We have discussed how to find dropshipping products, how to create your online store, and how to make a compelling product description. Today, we will continue to learn about how to design a compulsive ad copy that can market your products the best. Many dropshippers can seek help from their dropshipping agent with ad creatives, but knowing how to do it right is an important thing to manage your advertising campaign effectively and to sell your products.
What is an ad copy?
First, we need to understand what an ad copy is. An ad copy refers to copywriting of advertisements. It contains the headline, the body, CTA to form an ad. An ad copy is designed to attract the reader and make them take action. While there are many channels and designs, a compulsive ad copy drives visitors to your site, which is the reason why creating a good ad copy should not be overlooked in any way.
How to create a compulsive ad copy
In order to create a compulsive ad copy, we will do that in 4 parts. They are the Hook, the Benefit, the Offer, and CTA. The Hook is the one that inspires curiosity from the viewers. The hook will attract them right away and make them read more about your ad. The Benefit should inspire emotional appeal from your audiences. The Offer is all about the sale. And in Call to action, you tell people what to do like check out here or buy here, and so on.
Today, we will continue with the example of the microblading eyebrow that we’ve been using lately.
With that product, we will design the compulsive ad copy as below:
The Hook: Short and stubby brows are the thing in the past!
The Benefit: Our number ONE rated Fork tip eyebrow pen will give you fuller brows to last all day.
The Offer: Get FREE Shipping if you order today
CTA: Buy here=> Link
We will leave the Benefit, the Offer and CTA unchanged, then we will test the hook itself. These are 3 options that we will do the test:
Hook option 1: Short and stubby brows are the thing in the past!
Hook option 2: Getting thicker brows has never been so easy!
Hook option 3: Natural brows are only one stroke away!
So when you read the Hook here, like option 1: Short and stubby brows are the thing in the past!, you would think: “Wait, what, I got short and stubby brow, tell me more”. So that is exactly what you want the Hook to do: lead people to the main body: the Benefit, the good Offer, and finally, where to get it.
One note is that the Hook should inspire curiosity that leads to benefits and the rest of the ad. It’s not recommended to include the benefits in the hook because it tells too much. You would literally hook them just like a trailer or a thumbnail that makes people watch a movie or a video. You don’t tell all the information in the trailer, right, just the most amazing part that makes people curious about the rest.
Coming up with a compulsive ad copy could take time. First, you need to understand the benefits of the product. What could interest your audience. What could inspire their curiosity. That is the reason why we talk about creating the product description before creating the ad copy. Because it makes it so much easier to find out the reason why people should buy it. And then, you would tell that reason in your ad copy. It will be easier for you to compel people with a compulsive ad copy based on what you already have in your product description.
After you created the description, like the below, you would know that the eyebrow pen helps people to get a natural eyebrow, thicker eyebrows, it helps solve all the eyebrow problems like uneven eyebrow, short or stubby brows, etc. Then you would be more confident to highlight those benefits in your ad.
